Woodring, Thomas
Thomas Woodring was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania where at age 9 his mother enrolled him in piano lessons. After only a few months it was clear he was more excited about creating music than playing it.
Fast forward a few years and Thomas would find himself studying music composition under Paul Barsom and percussion under Dan Armstrong and Giff Howarth at the Penn State University. At college he would begin scoring short films and find himself performing in places like Heinz Hall and The Kimmel Center. He would win the "Jury Recognition Award" and be nominated for the "Creative Achievement Award" for his work on "Dusk: for solo Marimba."
After joining the military Thomas wound up at Full Sail University to obtain his master's degree. Several years later he would return to Full Sail University to work with the faculty of the Music Production Department.
You can hear Thomas' work in various short films, video games, commercials, and TV productions like the Disney Christmas Day Parade. He released his first public album in 2014 and is currently working on his second
