Matt Wasson is the director of bands at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, WA. He graduated from University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree in 2014 and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2019. Matt's composition for orchestra, Locus (2016), was a finalist in the 2016 Washington-Idaho Symphony Young Artist Competition. Matt has written and arranged music for the concert hall, marching band field, and for virtual performance – including a recent performance video by the Mid America Freedom Band of his arrangement of Florence Price's Adoration (2020). Aside from composing and teaching, Matt enjoys spending time with friends, family, his partner Robbie, and their cat Teddy.
