Ward, Aaron
Aaron Joseph Ward (b. 1997) is a percussionist, educator, and composer who actively writes music for percussion ensemble and band, as well as for various other solo and chamber settings. As an upcoming composer, influenced by a wide variety of genres, he writes music in a wide range of styles. Aaron has performed with the Troy University Percussion Ensemble and served as principal percussionist of the Troy University Symphony Band. He has performed at the Alabama Music Educators Association Conference, the Collegiate Band Directors Association National Conference, and the Percussive Arts Society international Convention, where he was a featured soloist with the Troy University Percussion Ensemble.
Aaron is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in music education at Troy University. During his time at Troy, he has studied applied percussion performance with Dr. Adam Blackstock and Music Theory/Composition with Dr. Traci Mendel. He has also had the opportunity to work with composers such as Kevin Bobo, Robert Clayson, Benjamin Fraley, Brian Nozny, and Gordon Stout.
