Wallace, Vince
Vince Wallace (b. 1986) is a percussionist, music educator, and composer from Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. He holds master’s degrees in percussion performance and music composition from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, where he studied composition with Dr. Warren Gooch. While at Truman, Vince also served as a Percussion Teaching Assistant from 2009-2011. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Music Education/Percussion.
A native of the Pittsburgh area, Vince has taught at and wrote music for numerous marching percussion programs throughout Western Pennsylvania, including many years as Percussion Specialist at Gateway Senior High School and instructor/arranger for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Drumline. Vince also spent two years as a front ensemble technician with Gateway Indoor, an Independent World Class indoor drumline in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a percussionist, Vince has performed with the Altoona Symphony, Edgewood Symphony, McKeesport Symphony, and is a member of Keystone Wind Ensemble. He is also an active freelance soloist, focusing on solo marimba performance and world percussion. As a passionate street performer, Vince can often be seen busking and playing cajón for the public on sidewalks and street corners all over Pittsburgh. Currently, Vince teaches music for Propel Charter Schools, is an adjunct professor of percussion at Westmoreland County Community College, and maintains one of the largest private lesson studios in Pittsburgh through Mannella Guitars in Monroeville, PA.
