Mackenna Tolfa is a performer and composer from Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is currently a student of Fernando Meza at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, studying Music Performance in Percussion. She is an alumnus of the Percussion Institute at Interlochen school in Michigan, where she has worked with several artists including Keith Aleo and John Parks. Mackenna is an avid lover of musical theater and has studied with several Broadway musicians including Rolando Morales Matos (Lion King Broadway), Philip Mayer (The Band’s Visit Broadway) and Colin Welford (Hamilton in Chicago). In the summer of 2019, she was invited to play a concert at the Sala Cullel Theater, at the University of Costa Rica, where she premiered La Fortuna. She was also an active participant in the VI Festival Internacional de Ensambles de Percusión, in Costa Rica, as an artist in 2019 with her international quartet group.
