    Skip Taylor

    Clint "Skip" Taylor is an Assistant Professor of Music in String Education at the University of Georgia School of Music. He received a BME from Winthrop College in 1988, the MM in 1996, and PhD in 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He studied instrumental conducting with Dr. John R. Locke and research in music education with Dr. James W. Sherbon, Dr. Patricia E. Sink, and Dr. Maribeth Yoder-White.

    Prior to his appointment at UGA, Dr. Taylor taught middle school and high school orchestra in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and Forsyth County Schools in North Carolina. He was the conductor and director of the Winston-Salem Youth Symphony from 1997-2001 and was the founding conductor and director of the Greensboro Symphony Junior Strings from 2000-2001.

    An active clinician and adjudicator throughout the southeast, Dr. Taylor has conducted numerous all-state and all-county orchestras, and in addition, is an arranger for C. Alan Publications of Greensboro, NC. He is an active ASCAP arranger as well as a current member of ASTA, NSOA, MENC, GMEA, and Phi Mu Alpha.
