Tadlock, John
John Tadlock is a percussionist from Longview, Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education - Pre-Certification, with a minor in Information Technology from Stephen F. Austin State University, as well as his master’s degree in Percussion Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
During his time in Texas, John performed with the Longview Symphony and the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, the PASIC All-Star Percussion Ensemble (2015), and has performed as a soloist with the East Texas Symphonic Band, the Orchestra of the Pines, and the SFA Percussion Ensemble. He has played with several local musical theatre productions in his hometown, performed twice at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, and was awarded the SFA President’s Award for the Most Outstanding Recital of the Year in 2017. While at IU, John studied orchestral and contemporary percussion and composition, performed with the Indiana University Percussion Ensemble at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (2018), and served as the principal percussionist for the Philharmonic Orchestra. John currently lives in Indiana where he performs locally with a new music trio, as well as in musical productions with the local theater.
