Strunk, Kylle

Kylle Strunk currently studies percussion performance and advertising at Idaho State University. He studies under recognized composer and performer Thom Hasenpflug. Kylle has written works for a variety of instruments and ensembles including: piano, violin, string quartet, steel pans, percussion, percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, jazz combo and big band, and symphony. In 2015 Kylle premiered a collaborative symphony at ISU. Other notable premieres include a symphonic sketch performed by the Idaho State-Civic Symphony, a performance of a steel pan chart and a percussion octet with the ISU Percussion Ensemble, and a marimba duet with his teacher and mentor, Thom Hasenpflug. Kylle Strunk took 2nd place in the Portland Percussion Group’s 2015-2016 ’Call for Scores’ for his piece Oaxacan Fantasy, which was premiered in June of 2016.
