    Allan Street

Allan Street is a Scottish composer, music teacher, conductor and cornet player.

Street had a career as a cornet player from an early age. In addition to his work in various opera and philharmonic orchestras, he had also founded his own octet, which was broadcast on BBC London during the Second World War. After the war he became a music teacher at various schools in the United Kingdom. He retired in 1977.

He was also the conductor of the Derby Light orchestra and later, in the 1960s, also of various brass bands, such as Dalmellington Band and the Markham Main Colliery Band. In addition to a small work for orchestra Pocketful O'Jingle and a large number of adaptations for brass band, he wrote most of his own works for the brass band medium.
