Kevin Romanski (b. 1975) currently serves as Assistant Professor of Percussion at Shu-Te University, where he also acts as Director of Musical Studies for the Department of Performing Arts. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Percussion and Director of the University Percussion Ensemble at Shih Chien University. He has previously held positions at National Kaohsiung Normal University, Tainan National University of the Arts, National Tainan University, and Rutgers University.

Dr. Romanski received his Bachelor of Music degrees from Syracuse University under Michael Bull and Daniel Godfrey, and his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Rutgers University under She-e Wu and Pulitzer Prize winning composer Charles Wuorinen.

As a performer, Dr. Romanski has given concerts in the United States, Taiwan, and South Korea. He is a member of the Southern Taiwan Chamber Society, Kaohsiung Fine Arts Ensemble, Succession Percussion Group, and DeXin Chamber Ensemble, and has also performed with the Chimei Philharmonic Orchestra (Principal Percussionist), Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Society, Viola Space Taiwan, Exit 9 Percussion Group (First Place Winner of the 2004 Chesapeake Chamber Music Live Competition), Pro Arte Chorale, Riverside Choral Society, HELIX! New Music Ensemble, National Pingtung University of Education Orchestra (soloist), Ray Charles, and various pop-music groups. He recently shared the stage with violinist James Buswell in a series of performances with the National Sun Yat-Sen University resident Baroque Camerata.

Dr. Romanski has also given numerous solo recitals and clinics in the United States and Taiwan. In 2006, he had the honor of presenting a recital of Alexander Scriabin’s music for the Russian ambassador in Washington, D.C. Devoted to the study and performance of new music, a number of solo marimba and chamber works have been written expressly for him, and he has been involved in the commissioning and premiering of new works for percussion quartet. His discography includes such labels as Sony, Naxos, Musicahead, Ad Parnassum Recording, Mark Custom Recording Service, and Phoenix Media Group.

Dr. Romanski is an artist representative for Malletech and Cadeson, and his musical compositions and editions for marimba are published through C. Alan Publications, Keyboard Percussion Publications, and Studio 4 Productions. He resides in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with his wife and two children.
