Peruzzolo-Vieira, Samuel
Samuel Peruzzolo-Vieira is a Brazilian composer, educator, percussionist, and researcher. He holds a PhD in music composition from University of Aveiro (PT) and M.M in percussion performance from Texas A&M University-Commerce (USA). His research focuses on the correlations between composition, notation, aesthetics, and hermeneutics. Currently, he coordinates the department of composition at Piaget Institute-Viseu, Portugal. Parallel to his teaching activity, Samuel holds a postdoctoral researcher position at INET-md/University of Aveiro and contributes regularly as an ad hoc referee for OPUS (BR), IMPAR (PT), Germinare (PT), among other music journals. As a Portuguese citizen, Samuel has been working for more than ten years as a full-time percussion instructor at music conservatories, having given numerous lectures and recitals throughout the country. A PAS Composition Contest winner, Samuel’s compositions have been performed in America, Europe, and Asia. His compositions are published by MUSICON Publications and C. Alan Publications.
