Monroe, Brian
Brian Monroe received his Bachelor of Music Education from Kent State University where he studied percussion with Michael Burritt and received his Masters of Arts in Music Composition, studying with Walter Watson, Halim El-Dabh, Thomas Janson, and Dr. J. Rex Mitchell.
Mr. Monroe is in demand as a composer, arranger, clinician, and adjudicator, and is a member of ASCAP, NAfME, OMEA, ASBDA, and the Percussion Arts Society (PAS). A successful public school band director, Mr. Monroe’s ensembles were selected to perform multiple times at the Ohio Music Association Professional Development Conferences and American School Band Directors Association Conventions. After spending 30 year in the classroom, Mr. Monroe understands the technical limitations of the various educational levels and tailors his arrangements compositions to challenge and inspire the students.
