    Evgeniya Kozhevnikova

Evgeniya "Jane" Kozhevnikova, a Fulbright Scholar, is a composer, pianist, and educator. Her works has been performed at the regional, national, and international level music events. She has been working as a composer and a musician in theatres, performing original music with her jazz band, and teaching piano.

In 2019, Jane received a DownBeat Magazine Outstanding Performance award in the Latin jazz category with her jazz-tango compositions. Her piece Stardust for solo marimba became one of the winners of "Music Now" contest, a part of Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival in October 2019.

Jane composes in various styles and genres, from classical to jazz and tango, tastefully blending them together. Her compositions have a deep influence from the music of Romanticism. Inspired by her projects for vocal and choir, she brings exciting melodic lines and harmony to her instrumental music.

Jane holds her master’s degree in Music Composition through Western Michigan University. She is currently pursuing her second master’s degree in Jazz Performance at WMU.
