Howley, Alex
Alex Howley (b. 1996) is a composer from the Dallas, TX area. He is studying to receive a Bachelors degree in English and a minor in Music from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Alex teaches percussion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, both with marching bands and in private lessons. He has spent two summers on tour with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps in the front ensemble and plans to return for a third season. He is an avid marimbist, having taken first place in the 2015 College Keyboard competition at PASIC. He has studied percussion with Dr. Brian Zator and composition with Dwayne Rice. His musical influences include works by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Hindemith, Maslanka, and many others from many different styles and eras of music.
