Garner, Lucas
Lucas Garner is an award-winning American composer born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He holds degrees in music composition from the Royal Northern College of Music (UK), James Madison University and Tennessee Tech University.
Lucas also holds a reputation as a performer on both percussion and electric guitar, where he has performed nationwide for a variety of audiences. He has performed memorized concerts for venues such as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, various university program auditoriums and community concert halls internationally.
Lucas’s concert music has held a reputation for thought-provoking audience response while maintaining a wide reach of accessible listening. He additionally worked as a composer and consultant for jazz, pop, metal, and media music composition such as film and video game music. Currently he works as a freelance composer and on staff at C. Alan Publications, where his compositions are published.
Lucas’s primary mentors in music composition were Adam Gorb, Eric Guinivan, Casey Cangelosi, Paul Patterson, Greg Danner and Jonathan McNair. His primary percussion mentors included Colin Hill, Eric Willie, Casey Cangelosi and Andy Harnsberger.
