    Vaughan Fleischfresser

    Vaughan Fleischfresser was born in Kingaroy (Australia) and now resides in Peebles (Scotland). He has taught music at the highest level throughout Australia, the UK, and North America, having taught in institutions such as The University of Edinburgh (UK), George Heriots School (UK), Brisbane Girls Grammar School (AUS), and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (AUS), where he conducted the premier Wind Band in Australia’s largest Young Conservatorium programme.

    Vaughan began his professional music career as a saxophonist in Australia, and is in high demand as a freelance saxophonist. He holds Bachelor Degrees in both Music and Education from the Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane), where he studied under and was mentored by the renowned composer and conductor, Dr Ralph Hultgren. Vaughan also holds a Master of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music (Chicago) majoring in Wind Band and Choral Education, during which time he studied conducting under the direction of Dr Charles Menghini.

    Vaughan is currently a Teacher of Music at The Edinburgh Academy, having most recently been the Teaching Fellow in Music Education at The University of Edinburgh. In addition to this, he is the Conductor of the Peebles Concert Band, and The Edinburgh University Female Voice Choir. Away from the classroom and podium, Vaughan is in high demand as an adjudicator and educational speaker.
