Matthew Curley has a diverse background in the world of percussion, ranging from Jazz to Avant Garde music to Popular music to Orchestral percussion, and more. He completed a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at Middle Tennessee State University studying under Lalo Davila, Julie Davila and Derrek Phillips, amongst other well-known musicians and directors. Prior to studying at Middle Tennessee State University, Matthew received his Undergraduate Degree at Western Connecticut State University studying under David Smith and Patrick Smith.

Matt currently teaches K-5 general music at Hillsboro Elementary school and is the Assistant band director at Coffee County High School. Matthew proudly performs with Innovative Percussion drumsticks and mallets. Matt lives in Tennessee with his wife Annie and two dogs.
