Crawford, Michael

    Michael Crawford

    Michael Crawford is an active musician, adjudicator, arranger, and educator based in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area metroplex. He currently serves as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas (UNT) where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education. Michael holds an undergraduate degree in music education and a master’s degree in percussion performance. Prior to his appointment at UNT, he spent 11 years as an Assistant Band Director and Percussion Coordinator in several districts across DFW as well as an Adjunct Lecturer of Percussion at Tarleton State University and as the Drumline Instructor/Arranger for the Baylor University Golden Wave Marching Band.

    Michael has performed throughout the United States and Europe with the Waco Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps. He has presented numerous clinics and participated in showcase concerts at the National Association for Music Education, College Band Directors National Association, National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy, Texas Music Educators Association, and Texas Bandmasters Association conferences.

    Michael is a Pearl Drums/Adams Regional Marching Percussion Artist and a certified Smithsonian Folkways World Music Pedagogy educator.
