    Timothy Blinko

    Timothy Blinko was a scholar at the Royal College of Music, which has been central to British choral music in the 20th century, with composers such as Vaughan Williams, Holst, Ireland, Britten and Tippett all passing through its doors.

    Timothy became Head of Composition and Musicianship Studies at the Royal College of Music Junior Department in 1994, and was a Senior Lecturer at London University's Birkbeck College before joining the Music Department at Hertfordshire.

    Other compositional and academic appointments have included the State University of New York (International Summer School), External Examinerships at London University, Birkbeck College and Middlesex University, as well as regular ongoing conducing masterclasses at Cambridge University.

    Timothy Blinko became full-time at the University of Hertfordshire in the newly created role of Associate Head of Department in 2001. In 2003 he also became Director of Music at Ealing Abbey.

    He has received awards from the PRS and the RVW Trust as well as five prizes for composition; he has eleven published works, four CD recordings and various works have been broadcast in the UK on BBC Radio 3, Radio 4, Classic FM and Channel 4, alongside international performances, recordings and broadcasts.
