Arie, Jacob
A Dallas/Fort Worth native, Jacob Arie has been both a student and teacher of the north Texas band and drumline scenes his entire life. Mr. Arie grew up in Mesquite, TX, playing drum set and eventually joining the band program at Berry Middle School which fed into John Horn High School, where he was the Salutatorian and an All-State Percussionist. Mr. Arie went on to study music education at Texas Christian University, where he performed with the TCU Symphony Orchestra, the TCU Wind Symphony and Symphonic Bands, the TCU Marching Band, the TCU Steel Bands and the four-time PASIC champion TCU Percussion Orchestra. Mr. Arie has been apart of several memorable performances, including several at Fort Worth's historic Bass Performance Hall and a showcase concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in San Antonio in 2015.
Mr. Arie currently resides in Fort Worth, TX and works at Keller Central High School where he teaches beginning, middle school, and high school private lessons and works with the drumline and percussion ensembles. Many of Mr. Arie's private students have been a part of Texas All-Region Bands and Area auditions, and his arrangement of Bach’s Violin Sonata in G Minor for Percussion Ensemble took 5th place at the North Forney Percussion Festival and was recently premiered at the Music For All National Festival in Indianapolis.
